Dear Lafayette County Voters:

Welcome to your Lafayette County Supervisor of Elections web site.  As you browse through, I hope you will find the information and features useful as well as educational.

The 2014 Midterm Elections are now in the books and the successes of both are owed to all the voters who turned out to have their voices heard.  Thanks to all the poll workers and our elections staff, both the Primary and General Elections went smoothly.

With 2015 being a non-election year, we now press forward with our Registration List Maintenance programs in order to clean up and maintain an accurate voter list.

What is List Maintenance?  Basically, according to FS 98.065, if you have not voted in the past two General Election cycles, had any address updates, or requested an absentee ballot, your name will be placed in 'Inactive' status.  If you are placed in 'Inactive' status, we will be mailing you an Address Confirmation Notice.  If you receive one of these notices, please fill it out with your current address and mail it back to us.  At this point, you will become an 'Active' voter in our system.  However, if we do not hear back from you, and you do not have any interaction with our office for two more General Election cycles, your name will be removed from the state wide voter database and you will have to re-register as a new voter in order to vote.  We will begin this process and notices will be sent starting in January.

It is an honor and privilege to serve you.  If there is anything our office can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us.  I look forward to seeing you soon!
